Claude's help page says scheduled tasks 'run remotely', so they run on schedule even when your computer is asleep. Catch: tasks that need local files or apps only run on your computer.
METR figures on one comparison page: Claude Opus 4.6 finishes tasks about 1.2 hours long at 80% success. GPT-5.4 manages 53.9 minutes. At 50% success it is 12 hours against 5.7 hours.

Claude Cowork launched January 12, 2026. A January 15 report showed a flaw, not yet fixed at launch, that let hidden text in documents make it upload sensitive files to an attacker's account. Anthropic advised against sensitive data during the preview.

Anthropic's help page says Dispatch, the phone-to-Cowork feature, keeps all messages in one conversation. You cannot start a new thread or manage several at once.
